CAMPAIGN COMMUNICATIONS TEAM
The Campaign Communications Team spreads the word about local, state, and national Democratic candidates, campaign issues, county events, and chartered club activities. We contact media outlets, draft e-mail messages and press releases, and promote our events through various media outlets. Our work uses video, audio, broadcast media, electronic and surface mail, and social networking web sites.
VOTER REGISTRATION TEAM
The Voter Registration Team registers new voters by organizing and managing voter registration venues and events, and matching volunteers with city leaders and other event organizers. We set up tables at Farmers’ Markets, fairs, festivals, and in front of high-traffic businesses to register new voters as well those who have moved or changed political parties in our continuing efforts to keep California Blue!
HEADQUARTERS MANAGEMENT TEAM
The Headquarters Management Team is responsible for staffing the campaign HQ, handling donations for campaign merchandise, answering the phones & greeting people who walk in, maintaining office cleanliness, managing and maintaining the campaign events calendar, and ensuring that the HQ is properly configured for events and meetings. Office volunteers will be able to help register voters.
FIELD OPERATIONS TEAM
The Field Operations Team will empower members of the community by educating them about our issues and candidates and motivating them to join our movement for change. As Neighborhood Leaders (link this to the program description shown below), we will mobilize and empower our friends and neighbors. We will energize our communities by distributing literature, attending and producing public events, registering voters, and telephoning voters to assure their commitment to our candidates and party. We will embody the positive, grass roots spirit of this campaign: “Respect, Empower, Include.”
VOLUNTEER COORDINATION TEAM
The Volunteer Coordination Team recruits volunteers for the San Mateo County Democrats in order to staff the various functional areas of the campaign. We meet the volunteers, understand their skills and interests, document their profiles and contact information, and make their campaign experience positive and productive by matching their interests with our needs.
FINANCE TEAM
The Finance Team raises the money needed to fund the 2008 campaign operations. (We receive no funding from the state or national parties). To accomplish this, we use a combination of events, direct mail, campaign paraphernalia sales, and personal solicitations. Our members identify creative approaches for raising funds, implement plans and projects, and follow-up with contributors to maximize our success.
